Along with other officials, President William Ruto attended a church service in Laikipia today. Anne Waiguru was present and was given the opportunity to address the Christians in attendance. The President's defense of Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza against impeachment was acknowledged by Waiguru.
The second-term Kirinyanga county governor further stated that when other female governors asked the president to step in and prevent Kawira Mwangaza from being impeached, he responded favorably. Waiguru expressed her appreciation to the president, stating that the other female governors were grateful for his backing.
Meru A few days ago, the county's MCAs had brought forth a number of claims against Governor Kawira Mwangaza that could have resulted in his impeachment. The Senate offered her a second chance to govern Meru after she had already survived the impeachment. The senate was instrumental in overturning Mwangaza's impeachment.
