Makadara MP George Aladwa has insisted that Western Kenya will rally behind Raila Odinga in 2022 and not any other candidate trying to invade the region.
Speaking on Friday in Migori county, the ODM MP expressed confidence that the ODM Party Leader will win in 2022 and becomes the fifth president.
While praising ODM saying it had given key party positions to the Western Kenya community, Aladwa warned the county's Governor Okoth Obado, saying he will not succeed in dividing Migori votes.
"Obado has finished his two terms. We respect him and should move out in peace. We as luhyas have Deputy Party Leader Wycliffe Oparany as well as the Secretary-General Post. All Luhyas across the country have decided and we will support Raila in 2022" said Aladwa.
He said Migori residents should not be lied upon to support anybody else in 2022 adding that they should focus and live to the reality that the Nyanza region will produce the fifth president.
Aladwa's remarks come days after Migori Governor Okoth hosted DP William Ruto in the region. Ruto, who received an overwhelming reception from Awendo, promised to work together with Obado in 2022 as come way of uplifting the region.
This seems to have caused some jitters inside ODM party, which has for a long time enjoyed massive support from the region.
