Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga should cut all ties with President Uhuru Kenyatta, political commentator Gordon Opiyo has advised.

Opiyo, who is also an influential blogger, said Raila should not bank on Uhuru's endorsement to win the race to the State House where his most fierce opponent will likely be Deputy President William Ruto.

He claimed Uhuru's Jubilee government "has completely destroyed the economy and has led to extreme pain for everyone", and that is why it is unwise to associate with the President as 2022 race draws close.

"Ruto saw this long time ago, and knew that it would be impossible to sell Jubilee to anyone after the disaster of 2013 to 2022. He took off from the stinking Jubilee ship," Opiyo posted on Facebook.

The analyst said the ongoing plans to merge ODM and Jubilee, and Uhuru's pledge to support NASA candidate was a scheme by the President to run away from the ruling party.

He said has Raila has been duped by the Jubilee boss and that is why on Saturday he threatened that a tsunami is coming that will sweep Ruto's brigade in 2022.

"Uhuru has seen that Jubilee is going nowhere. That is why he took off from Jubilee and is now pledging to support NASA. But this joker is here threatening Tsunami after signing a partnership with Jubilee..... A dead party!" he said.

Opiyo said ODM leadership and supporters should stop lying to themselves that Uhuru will bring the deep state and the system to their side, arguing if that was the case Mt Kenya leaders should not be abandoning the President and joining Ruto.

"If this imaginery Deep State and Shishtem that ODM keeps singing about truly existed... I can assure you... Non of the Central Kenya Leaders running away from the sinking Jubilee would have decamped....Everyone would be singing Uhulu everywhere," he said.

"But if you see people who understand what truly goes on, like the Kikuyu politicians running away from the Shishtem... You should smell a fish," Opiyo added.
