Tanzania Vice President Samia Suluhu Swearing In Ceremony

Samia Suluhu the deputy president of the republic of Tanzania is set to be sworn in today morning.

This comes after the death of President John Pombe Joseph Magufuli on Wednesday at 6pm.

Suluhu who was first elected as the deputy president in 2015 is set to be the sixth president of Tanzania.

However, the ruling party has not given the exact time but they have reported that the ceremony will be held today.

After swearing in, she wills chair the first executive cabinet meeting. This meeting will spearhead the burial of Magufuli.

Transition has never been easy. It's reported that some party members were in the opinion of barring her from rising to power. This failed due to the Constitution.

Suluhu, will be the first Woman president in Tanzania and East Africa.

She will continue for the next five years. According to the consititution, she will be eligible to vie once for presidency. This is because the current term will be counted as her first term.

Reports from yesterday indicates that South Africa president is already in Tanzania for the swearing in ceremony.
