President Uhuru's Government Suffers A Major Setback As Hight Court Nullifies Another Project

Current National Identification cards will be phased out by December 12, 2021, according to ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru.

They will be replaced by Huduma Namba cards, which will be issued starting December 1, 2020. Mr Mucheru stated that without the new document, it will be impossible to obtain government services .Speaking from the Machakos Golf Club, where he presided over the unveiling of the Huduma Namba cards.

Kenyans will receive a text message informing them of where to pick up the new card, according to Mr Mucheru.

However according to the latest reports by Nation Africa, the high court has declared Huduma Namba roll out illegal on grounds of being in conflict with data protection act.

The rollout will then face a major obstacle, since the high court has struck down yet another of President Uhuru Kenyatta's government initiatives.
