Raila Odinga seeks to take over power from president Kenyatta as soon as the president retires next year.He will make his 5th attempt at a time when he is facing a stiff competition from his one time member of the Pentagon team.DP Ruto is expected to give Odinga a run for his money in next year's general election.
Odinga has been on a tour across the country to popularise his Azimio La Umoja initiative.Same to DP Ruto who has been popularising his bottom-up economic model.Odinga's tour is expected to climax up in a meeting on 10th next week in Kasarani Nairobi. However, the last rally is expected to be key for Odinga since he is going to let Kenyans know whether he will be on the ballot or not.
Insiders have revealed some of the plans for Odinga's big day.Surprisingly, the Star has established that Odinga has invited four African heads of states besides other dignitaries. This is possibly so due to Odinga's network across the continent coupled with his role in the African Union.
