Power Blackout Experienced in Some Parts of Marsabit County as Vote Counting Continues

According to reports,power blackouts have been experienced in most parts of Samburu County as vote count begins.

It has not yet been established what caused the power blackouts but reports revealed that there could be technical issues.

William Ruto, deputy president of Kenya, had expressed alarm over the likelihood of a power outage during today's elections.

In a televised address from his office in Karen, the DP cautioned Kenya Power against turning off the lights on election day.

In addition, he urged Communications Authority CEO Ezra Chiloba not to misuse his position during the voting process and shortly afterward.

DP Ruto also complained about the power outage that affected the majority of the nation during the presidential discussion.

"I would want to request that the CEOs of Kenya Power and Communications Authority carry out their duties in accordance with the law.Kenyansdo not want a repeat of what occurred during the presidential debate, when large portions of the country lost power," he state.
