Today afternoon, Attorney General Justin Muturi gave a speech at the Kenya School of Government to celebrate International Anti-Corruption Day. The purpose of the day is to increase public awareness of corruption and ways to fight and avoid it. He justed an anti-corruption anthem that would be sung everyday in addition to the national anthem.

According to the AG, doing this will encourage Kenyans to feel obligated to avoid engaging in corrupt practices in their daily endeavors.

We have a wonderful country, and at 60, we know what ails us, what we need to do to improve, what habits we must give up, but of course in order to achieve this we must evidently continue to be reminded every hour every day much like we say the Lord's prayer, added Muturi.

The United Nations established the day after realizing that corruption is a complicated social, political, and economic issue that affects all nations. The national and EAC anthems should be sung simultaneously with the anti-corruption anthem at both domestic and international occasions, according to Muturi.

"There was a very wonderful song that was performed; I don't know why I haven't heard it again. I thought why don't we include it so that we keep recalling ourselves." He remarked

For Kenya is ranked 128th out of 180 nations in the Corruption Index 2021 for corruption.

What are your opinions on propose anthem, will it really help reduce corruption?
