Kenyans React After DP Ruto's Man Irungu Kangata Came 3rd in Latest Polls

With only 40 days to the general elections, political activities have continued to become intense as politicians continue to hit the campaign trails ahead of the big day in August 9.

From the MCA position to the president position, no one is taking chances and they political class is burning overnight oil to see than a win is achieved in the forthcoming polls.

When we talk about the national elections, the race is very clear that it's going to be a two horse race between Deputy President William Ruto and Azimio kingpin Raila Odinga. What has however become more evident in the recent days is that the Karua factor has slowly started to eat into the Kenya Kwanza popularity that they have been enjoying in the Mt Kenya region.

Following her appointment as Raila's running mate, things seems to be working on their favour and with only five weeks to go, it seems that they might water down Ruto's influence in the Mt Kenya region.

In this regard, DP Ruto's strongman in Mt Kenya region senator Irungu Kangata who is eying the Murang'a gubernatorial seat has received a shocker of his time after the latest opinion polls by Mizani Africa placed him third behind Jubilee's Jamleck Kamau. According to the pollster, Jamleck Kamau commands the region with a resounding 30.8% followed by Wairagu wa Maai with 26.2% with Kangata coming third with 25.5%.

This latest polls have left many wondering how quick things have changed against Irungu Kangata who has been regarded as the anointed one in the Murang'a race and having the backing of DP Ruto. Below are some reactions from a section of Kenyans;
