Ukambani Governor in trouble for trying to drop impeachment of the county finance cabinet secretary

The county governor of Makueni, Professor Kivutha Kibwana found himself at the receiving end after he tried to cover up the county finance cabinet secretary Mary Kimanzi.

This was after the member of Makueni county assembly brought up a bill to vote her out for what they claimed was misuse of office and delays in salaries and allowances.

Musyi FM posted

"Gavana wa kaunti ya Makueni Prof Kivutha Kibwana, niwatetea minister muviani wa kinandu silikalini yake Mary Kimanzi, itina wa bunge isu kwikia wia kumuvetanga uvisini kwa kila mekwasya kana, numakinyie kisandoo na makakosa misaala na mautiio ma misaala yoo, kuma mwai wa katatu itina wa minister usu kuandikiia valua kwa controller wa budget amukulitye aungamye misaala na mautiio ma misaala yoo naa ya athukumi ma bunge isu."

Translation: Makueni County governor Prof Kivutha Kibwana, has stood with his county finance cabinet secretary Mary Kimanzi after the members of county assembly table a motion to impeach her for gross misconduct and inappropriate use of office leading to delayed salary payment and allowance. This was after she wrote to the county controller of budget requesting him to stop all county salary payment.

The county assembly claimed that the cabinet secretary functions are jeopardized and they are unable to run the county government responsibility.
