The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission four Commissioners have been under fire from the Kenya Kwanza Administration to vacate office following the scuffle during the Presidential Polls in August.
Nyanga'aya and three other commissioners are accused of attempting to subvert the will of the people with regard to the August 9 presidential electionsThe two others are Commissioners Irene Masit and Francis Wanderi.The four disowned results that were announced by IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati.
The four Commissioners had been accused of trying to subvert the will of the people after they distanced themselves from the results that were announced by Wafula Chebukati announcing President William Ruto as the winner.
"Since joining the commission, I have dispensed my duties diligently, and meticulously and put a spirited effort in helping the commission deal with corporate governance issues under very difficult circumstances. My cumulative actions done in good faith are unfortunately misjudged and misinterpreted," she added.
Four commissioners, including Cherera and Nyang'aya, are set to be investigated by a tribunal over their decision to disown the presidential election results announced in August 2022.
