Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party leader Raila Odinga missed the publicized Kamukunji grounds meeting. Raila missed the meeting hours before the meeting started. A report by the Standard Newspaper has indicated that Raila Odinga received a private call from President Uhuru Kenyatta. "The President talked with Raila last night,” said an official allied to Raila Odinga. It is believed that the leaders agreed to focus on the bigger picture, and Raila agreed to call his allies to order.
Details of the private phone call was however not provided and it is believed the Uhuru called Raila after his (uhuru) allies were blamed of interfering his working conditions with Raila Odinga. Senator James Orengo and MP Otiende Amollo threatened to bolt put of the Jubilee working arrangements after PS Karanja Kibicho allegedly tried to meddle with the handshake. is believed that the leaders agreed to focus on the bigger picture, and Raila to call his troops to order.
The planned meeting in Kamukunji went on with Raila's absence where ODM members of Parliament addressed the citizens. George Aladwa, the party Chairman for the Nairobi branch delivered Raila's apologies.
