Kisumu town residents have now broken their silence a day after according deputy president Dr William Ruto a rousing welcome when he visited the area for Madaraka Day celebration.
According to a group of youth which was part of those who cheered Dr Ruto when he arrived at Jomo Kenyatta stadium and when he left the place, they had already made their lineup on leaders they would allegedly elect in 2022 general election.
In their observation, most of the incumbent elected leaders had failed to deliver services to their expectations. This has triggered them to mull over making changes in the next polls.
In a video that did rounds on social media on Wednesday, the youth, most of whom were Boda Boda riders argued that they would vote for Ken Obura as their next governor. They vowed to ensure that Obura wins the gubernatorial seat with a landslide. Link: https://www.facebook.com/110116503870357/posts/338842297664442/?app=fbl
The group alleged that they were ready to reelect the current Kisumu Central constituency Member of Parliament Fred Ouda because of his good work.
However, they averred that they had not decided on whom to elect as the area Member of County Assembly (MCA) because they were not yet ready.
In senatorial race, the youth opined that although the incumbent Fred Outa was facing competition from his rivals, they would still reelect him. They urged him to pull up his socks since, they had not seen him substantially empower them.
Nevertheless, on 2022 State House race, they averred that they would support deputy president Dr William Ruto.
"Our president in 2022 will be William Samoei Ruto," they said.
This comes after Dr Ruto was thunderously cheered while in a tour to Kisumu on June 1st in a company of Uhuru and Raila.
