Israel PM Naftali Bennett Returns home after Meeting with President Putin.

Israel Prime Minister Naftali Bennett returned to Israel on Sunday after a brief trip where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to try to broker a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.

According to the official Israeli news channel, KAN, Bennett met with Putin for three hours and talked with him about the situation in Ukraine. According to a statement from Bennett's office, after

the meeting, Bennett called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenysky and French President Emmanuel Macron and informed them of his talks with Putin. The statement said Bennett

left Moscow and flew to Berlin, where she met Scholz for 90 minutes with the Ukrainian problem at the top of her program.

Last week, Bennett proposed a mediation effort to resolve the crisis between Moscow and Kiev. However, Putin declined the offer.

The Russian war in Ukraine, which began on February 24, was met with anger from the international community, including the EU, the United Kingdom and the United States, which imposed various economic sanctions on Moscow.
