It's Time For Political To Honor Their Side Of The Bargain

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC declared the presidential results announcing that DP William Ruto won the elections with over 7.1 million votes against his closest competitor Raila Odinga who got slightly above 6.9 million votes. This was the last declaration in this years election process coming after county returning officer declared winners for governor, Senator and woman representative. At the Constituency level, the returning officers declared the winners for Member Of National Assembly and Members of County Assembly (MCA's ).

During the campaigns candidates promised a lot of things. This was done through their posters, manifestos, advertisements on TV and newspaper and during elections debates that were organized by media organizations. Having known who we lead them, Kenyans are now eager to see what the elected leaders will be able to deliver within their first one hundred days in office. Just to emphasize, the elected leaders should focus on aspects that will take. our country to the next level of development. Some of the key areas that the people want to be addressed are poverty, corruption and the cost of living. On poverty, the president elect and governors should strategize and create employment opportunities for the youth. This allow them be able to put food in their table, contribute to nation building and reduce poverty.

Corruption is another thing that is eating us as a country. Let the president come up with laws that will curb corruption. Education should also be looked into by our leaders. They should work hard to achieve Vision 2030. It will be embarrassing if within the first one hundred days of their stay in office they will not have started delivering. Another aspect they should consider is agriculture. We should invest in agriculture to end food shortages.Since the leaders come from different coalitions both in National Assembly, Senate and County Assemblies, they should keep their differences aside and work together to achieve the set goals. Politicians should know that people are tired with fake promises and need results. My pleas to the elected leaders is to honor their side of the bargain.
