Speaking to the press in Eldoret town, Tolgos said president Uhuru Kenyatta should visit the area and talk to the security personnel.
This comes after bandits killed a woman with her two kids recently.
"I want to call upon president Uhuru Kenyatta who is the national of symbol of National unity to visit Kerio valley since the situation has gone beyond what we knew as cattle rustling," said the second term Jubilee party Elgeyo Marakwet governor.
Tolgos said that they no longer trust that anyone can stop the menace which has claimed many lives.
"We request him to come personally we don’t want him to send anyone and visit the area and talk with all the security team. I know even now we will be holding a security meeting
after the incident but the most unfortunate thing is that all the things that we discuss year in year out have not been implemented," Tolgos added.
He noted that the other time they had a meeting with the CS Interior Fred Matiangi they agreed that some regions that police stations are constructed and increase security officers but up to now nothing has been done," he added.
"My request to the Ministry of the interior is to recruit NPR from Baringo Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot , put them under police officers to work with them because they understand the area very well," he said
He said that if the government will not pay the NPR officers, he will channel all the funds meant for development to pay them.
