Today president Uhuru Kenyatta landed at Sagana State Lodge for a series of government engagements. He was warmly welcomed by Kirinyanga leaders and senior government officials. State officials from the region were also present.
In the afternoon, the president hosted all Kirinyanga leaders for a consultative meeting. The leaders were drawn from different political parties. The leaders discussed several development projects in the county.
The leaders also discussed the county's preparations for this year's Mashujaa day celebrations. The national event will be held at Wanguru stadium in Kirinyanga county. President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Malawi counterpart will lead the national celebration.
The leaders aired their views to the head of state. Leaders present in the meeting included Kirinyanga governor Anne Waiguru, Kirinyanga women representative Purity Ngirici, all Kirinyanga legislators and interior principal secretary Dr. Karanja kibicho. Religious leaders and senior professionals from the county were also present.
