Catholic leaders have finally responded to ODM leader Raila Odinga mass action at the time Kenyans are burdened by the high cost of living.
Led by Kisii Catholic Bishop Joseph Mairura, the clergy said that the opposition leaders will spent huge sums of cash to finance their massive protest on Monday.
The cleric said the protests have been called at a time many Kenyans are grappling with the high cost of living.
Bishop Mairura said it will cost lots of money to hold the demonstrations yet those who will participate will be doing so on empty stomachs.
Political and religious leaders have recently urged Raila to stop the mass action. However, Azimio feels that Kenya Kwanza ignored them and it was time to test their strength.
Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi today said Raila will carry on with his "nuisance", until President William Ruto gets irritated.
While taking a swipe at Deputy President Gachagua's remarks on how they plan to 'deal' with him, Raila affirmed that he will not in any way be cowed into quashing the planned mass actions. He opined that regardless of whether the government attempts to assassinate him, he is ready to pay the price.
Mr Odinga spoke during a rally in Nakuru accompanied by Martha Karua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, Jeremiah Kioni, among others.
