Kanu Political Affairs Secretary Fred Okang’o has speculated that the newly-appointed UDA secretary general Cleophas Malala is not making statements without seeking approval from top leadership in UDA.
Okang’o claimed President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua are aware of statements Malala wants to make in public about Kenya Kwanza.
Speaking to Citizen TV on Monday, Okang’o claimed that Malala has received the blessing of top leaders who are in UDA following his recent statements that many believe could bring trouble in the Kenya Kwanza coalition.
This is after the UDA secretary general has insisted that all Kenya Kwanza parties must fold their parties and join UDA party.
According to the political affairs secretary, since Malala has the alleged blessings of Ruto and Gachagua, he speculated that the parties in Kenya Kwanza will eventually give in and dissolve their parties.
“Malala is not speaking just like Malala, he is now the secretary general of UDA and I believe he has the blessings of UDA leadership that includes William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua and that means it is just a wait and see,” said Okang’o.
“In my view, woe unto the other parties in Kenya Kwanza because ultimately, they will fold,” claimed Okang’o.
A section of parties leaders who are in Kenya Kwanza have reacted to Malala’s statement saying they will not fold their parties and join President Ruto’s outfit.
According to reports, the former Kakamega senator had issued a warning to senior government officials who are still clinging to their parties to either fold them or risk losing their positions in government.
