Gideon Moi and Kalonzo Musyoka, the leaders of the besieged One Kenya Alliance (OKA), have resurrected the party with a new partnership that includes Martha Karua, the leader of the NARC Kenya party.
On Wednesday, January 26, the Kenya National Union (KANU) unveiled a poster announcing a joint campaign tour by Gideon, Kalonzo, and Karua. The first political event will take place in Kitui County tommorow.
Frederick Okango, KANU's Secretary for Political Affairs, told local daily that the leader of the NARC-Kenya party was an equal principal in the OKA alliance now.
"Yes, Karua is now partner in OKA, and she is a principal in the alliance. She is the leader of the NARC-Kenya party. As a result, they with Gideon and Kalonzo, are partners on an equal footing," Okango said.
"The Mount Kenya Unity Forum was formed before Martha joined OKA; she and Speaker Justin Muturi are members of the Mount Kenya Unity Forum. Karua was proposed as their spokesperson by the Mt Kenya Forum. OKA is the largest coalition, and many more will join," he noted.
