Kameme FM presenter and well-known philanthropist Benson Gathungu alias Mzee Kiengei has taken to social media to blast an aspiring MCA for using one of the beneficiaries of his philanthropic deeds to look for political mileage. The MCA, who is vying for a seat in Gatuanya Ward in Kiambu County, posted photos of a young man who was helped by Kiengei to buy an artificial leg after he conducted an online fundraiser and claimed that he was the one who purchased the leg for him.
Kiengei narrated how he helped the young man raise over Ksh 800,000 to buy the artificial leg and told him to use the rest of the money to start a business.
Kiengei even shared a screenshot of a message that the man sent to him, thanking him for his efforts after he bought the artificial leg.
He now wonders why the aspirant MCA lied to his followers that he was the one who funded the man to buy the artificial leg. Kiengei said it's wrong for him to lie to the public just to look for votes.
He also blasted the young man for agreeing to be used by the politician for his selfish gains.
''We Raised over 800k bought this Young man a Leg and the rest that he start a small business, but today he decided to be used by an aspiring Mca in Gatuanyaga Ward Kiambu County.......Why campaign using Charity Helped innocent people..,'' Kiengei posted.
