The the March,2018 handshake between president Uhuru Kenyatta and the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga resulted to building bridges Initiative. A task force was formed and it went across the country collecting the views of Kenyans on constitution amendment.
The process was delt a big early May this year when a five-bench judge of the High Court Declared the whole process unconstitutional null and void. Besides this,the Electoral body was barred from conducting any business concerning Consititution amendment.
The BBI Proponents moved to court of Appellate, the case was heard and a Ruling is expected on Friday,20/8/2021. The ODM premier said that if the court of appeal will retain the High Court Ruling, his team will not move to supreme Court but embark on the 2022 general election.
BBI Proponents and Secretariat is looking for the best from the Friday's rulling. If it will in their favor, they will go ahead and conduct a referendum where new posts will be introduced.
