Almost Empty Polling Station as Voters Go Home And Abandon Voting After KIEMS Kit Failed

Failure of KIEMS kits has emerged as one of the problems witnessed during today's general election. The situation was too rampant in Kakamega County but the Vice Chairperson IEBC Juliana Cherera has said that the electoral commission is working through its ICT officers to resolve any reported issues on the KIEMS kit by the returning officers and preceding officers.

However it is reported that Bulimbo Primary polling station in Matungu, Kakamega County has been left almost empty. This is after a large number of the electorate in this polling station went home. The voters are said to have gone home after being disappointed following the failure of the KIEMS kit in this station. The locals are said to have failed to vote.

Nonetheless, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has resorted to using the manual register. But it has emerged that despite the IEBC's intervention, the voters at Bulimbo Primary polling station in Matungu are yet to go back to their station to cast their votes.
