On Tuesday August 17th 2021, One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals announced that they will field one presidential candidate in the next years General elections slated for August 9th 2022 when they met at the Great Rift Valley Lodge Resort in Naivasha.The faction has since been strategising on ways to make the outfit formidable ahead of next year’s elections. The Alliance is made up of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Ford-Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ula, Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi and KANU’s Gideon Moi.An opinion poll was conducted on Twitter by kenyans.co.ke to know who should be the best suited flag bearer for the OKA coalition.
The results from the opinion survey show that ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi is best suited to fly the flag for the alliance. The former Vice president during Moi era got 65% support to be the coalition's presidential aspirant.He was followed by KANU boss Gideon Moi who was recently endorsed by his party to go for the country's top job. 16% of those who participated in poll supported Moi to be the flag bearer.
Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka got 15% while Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula came last with only 5% supporting his quest to be OKA's presidential candidate.
