Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdulahi, the chairman of the senior counsel's association of Kenya and one of the most ardent supporters of deputy president William Ruto has given a new term to the party defections between Jubilee and UDA parties. According to the senior counsel, it is wrong to refer to the shifting from jubilee party to the United Democratic Alliance party as defection. Instead, Abdulahi has said the movement should correctly be referred to as realignment.
Ahmednasir has been responding to a post online that was showing the most recent party defection of the Nyeri county governor Mutahi Kahiga and th Tetu constituency member of Parliament Hon Gichuhi Mwangi. The two politicians from the Mt Kenya region have today officially left the ruling Jubilee party and joined DP's UDA.
The two have stated that the DP's influence in the Mt Kenya region has grown immensely and that by next year closing to the elections, everyone will be in the UDA umbrella.
