The meeting was called allegedly to allow the leaders an opportunity to present a list of development projects they want to be prioritized. Dr. Ruto is also said to have used the opportunity to urge leaders from the region to start a new cordial relationship with the national government.

The meeting resolved that Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo will from now henceforth be the link between the leaders and various government organs.

The leaders were hosted to a sumptuous dinner.

Present at the private State Lodge function were Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Interior PS Raymond Omollo, Trade PS Alfred Kombudo, Governors Ochillo Ayacko of Migori and his Kisumu counterpart Peter Anyang Nyon'go.
