Illustrious billionaire businessman turned politician Suleiman Shahbal has isolated himself from the new political direction taken by his supposed to be deputy, Selina Maitha whose journey was abruptly halted after Raila's plea to have them ceed grounds for Abdulswamad Nassir prevailed.
Ms Maitha who is keen to keep herself in political corridors early today decamped ODM and joined DP Ruto's Kenya Kwanza alliance in a short event that was precided by Ruto in his Karen residence.
Responding to Maitha's move, Shahbal admitted that he respects her decision to decide on her new political affiliation but does not in any way portray his political beliefs and position.
Shahbal maintained that he is solidly behind Raila's presidential candidature and majority of Mombasa's electorate are following suit
" My team and I and the overwhelming majority of Mombasa residents remain firmly behind the Azimio la Umoja and our support for our party leader Raila Odinga is unshaken.
I will be at the forefront of the campaign for the Azimio la Umoja winning team both at the local and national levels to ensure we form the next government." Shahbal stated.
