Ukambani region has been dominated by Wiper party. Majority of leaders in the region were elected on a wiper ticket. The region has voted as a block to Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka in the previous elections. Deputy president William Ruto has been making inroads in the region ahead of the next general election.
Today the deputy president hosted a delegation from Ukambani region at his official residence in Karen. This is one of his vote hunt strategy in the region. He has also toured the three counties to popularize his presidential bid.
The delegation that paid a courtesy call to deputy president included former Wiper legislator and a team of Machakos MCAs. The leaders held a consultative meeting with the deputy president on various issues affecting the region. The former Kitui West Hon. Charles Nyamai has been supporting the deputy president since his loss in 2017.
Ukambani allied UDA legislators were also present in the meeting. The leaders included Machakos Town legislator Victor Munyaka, Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka and Kitui East legislator Nimrod Mbai. The legislators have already endorsed deputy president William Ruto presidential bid.
The deputy president shared the photos and this information on his official Facebook page.
