Speaking while celebrating the life of Mzee Richard Kaguchia Gichoni, father to Nyeri Speaker John Kaguchia at Kiuu, Mukurweini, Nyeri County on Wednesday, Deputy president William Ruto continued his verbal onslaught against President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.
In attempts to explain why the government has not implemented the development pledges it gave to the people of Mukurweini, DP Ruto blamed it on the push to amend the 2010 constitution.
The DP blamed Raila Odinga for diverting the priorities of President Uhuru Kenyatta by pushing him to amend the constitution so as to add more powers to the Presidency.
"Our focus as government was the big 4 agenda in our second term. But those people of reggae visited us with a different priority- that of changing the constitution to add more powers to the Presidency. We don't want a President who is a God, we want a President who is a servant of the people." Ruto fumed.
The DP has continued to be vocal against altering of the constitution after it emerged their was a plot to reintroduce constitutional amendments via a parliamentary route.
