A report by the Star Newspaper has established that an aspirant who was vying for the Kericho Gubernatorial seat has quit the race and has now joined Dr Mutai of United Democratic Alliance Party as his running mate.
This means that Engineer Fred Kirui has now joined the United Democratic Alliance Party and will now deputise Dr Mutai under the UDA ticket in the primaries and ahead of the 2022 August polls.
"in a signed statement, the two said that they will run as a team in Thursday United Democratic Alliance Party primaries", confirms the local daily.
This now complicates Charles Keter ambition as the next Governor after the two signed an agreement to work together in the upcoming August polls.
They will now face Deputy Governor Lily Ngok, Professor James Sang, Independent Candidate Engineer Samuel Rotich and Engineer Elijah Maru in the August contest.
