Kiharu Member of Parliament Hon. Ndindi Nyoro has blasted President Uhuru Kenyatta over the current move to pass the Building Bridge Initiative (BBI) Report after he (Uhuru) said all Members of the County Assembly will be paid Ksh. 2 Million car grant and in return support the BBI.
Hon. Nyoro who is a strong supporter of Deputy President William Ruto, asserted that Uhuru and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Leader Raila Odinga are so desperate to a point of paying MCAs to pass the document, hinting out that if the report is of goodwill to Kenyans, no one should be persuaded either by words or money to vote it in.
The Legislator slammed the Head of State, asking him to equally pay Kenyans if money is what he was going to use to have the BBI Report go through before the 2022 general elections.
According to the Legislator, Uhuru made a mistake of making BBI Report look as a money generator tool, adding that Kenyans demand an equal share of the same and they will pass the report.
“Since we saw the MCAs were given Sh 2 Million for supporting the BBI, we want the common mwanachi to be given money also because they have seen BBI is about money. If MCAs are given Sh. 2 Million, then every ordinary Kenyan should be given at least Sh. 10, 000,” Nyoro said.
Amidst different forces, the BBI has been poked holes for being staged to benefit a few political figure in the country at the expense of Kenyans, a move a section of Political leaders and public icons have dismissed.
Should Kenyans be paid as suggested by Hon. Nyoro so that the BBI Report can be passed before the looming 2022 polls?
