Some bloggers have made intriguing claims about Ruto's appointment as a close ally to the KRA board, and the internet is buzzing.
Despite rumours to the contrary, Kenyan President William Ruto did not appoint businesswoman Mary Wambui to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)'s Board of Directors, as has been reported on various social media platforms.
Wambui, one of the key individuals believed to have funded former President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection in 2017, was reportedly awarded by Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday, November 26.
But if you believe the sources, that data isn't correct and is tinged with malice.
Wambui isn't listed as a KRA board member, according to a comparison with the organization's website.
A team from the DCI tried to arrest Wambui at the Weston Hotel, which is owned by Ruto.
It has also been reported that she is involved in a $2.2 billion KRA scandal due to her long history of tax evasion.
Interesting things have been happening recently on social media, and they're all aimed at the government led by Ruto.
