As the 2022 presidential elections draw near, politicians who are interested in the county gubernatorial seats are also preparing to contest against each other with intentions of heading the county government for a period of 5 years.
One of the gubernatorial race which is expected to yield a lot of political heat is the Meru County contest, which has already attracted the interests of top politicians from the region.
One of the informative Facebook groups, The Informer, had a look into the race where they posted the three main contestants. "Meru battle royale; 2022 gubernatorial race escalates as contest expected to be shaped by national, local politics and financial muscle of the candidates. Who gonna carry the day? Time will tell!," The Informer posted on Facebook.
The three contestants include the incumbent governor, Hon. Kiraitu Murungi, the Agriculture Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Peter Munya and the current County Woman Representative Hon. Faith Kawira.
