MP Ndindi Nyoro in the previous event
The BBI ruling was done on Friday where the Court ruled against the report. This was a big blow to the proponents who were pushing for its implementation. The bench of seven Judges gave their verdict stating that the initiative was against the Constitution. The genesis of the initiative was after the handshake that was done between the President and Raila Odinga. The two leaders have accepted the decision of the Court and have decided to move on towards 2022.
There are several leaders who have expressed their feelings after the ruling. DP Ruto and his allies have appreciated the work of the Judges for stopping the amendment of the Constitution through BBI. MP Ndindi Nyoro has challenged the President to focus on vaccinating the people against Covid-19 instead of reviving the BBI.
"Focus on vaccinating Kenyans against COVID-19, not reviving BBI"- Ndindi Nyoro said.
