Rigathi Gachagua Rules Out Being Ruto's Running Mate in 2022 as he Re-affirms His Political Ambition

Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua has been among Tanga Tanga leaders who were reportedly eyeing Deputy President William Ruto's running mate position in his 2022 presidential bid.

Gachagua who has been a strong defender of UDA and the hustler Nation affirmed that he will stand with Ruto until 2022 but not as his running mate.

Clearing the air on his political ambition, the legislator in an interview with TV 47 on Monday stated that he will be defending his parliamentary seat under a UDA party ticket.

He went on to state that in Mathira Constituency and Mount Kenya Region at large, the UDA party is leading other parties and that they will field candidates in all positions in the coming elections.

"UDA is not a foreign party, it is a national party that has support across the country with a serious following in Mount Kenya Region. Our Secretary General Veronica Maina is from Mt Kenya, and we all know that a Secretary General is always the engine of a political party, and the region leaders in UDA are 49, not forgetting that the party won in a number of by-elections," said Gachagua.
