Cabinet secretary for the ministry of interior and coordination of the National Government of Kenya Dr. Fred Matiang'i has been in time made news headlines for his positive changes.
As the cabinet secretary for education, Dr. Matiang'i was able to cure the problem of exam malpractices. He is said to have fired the KNEC officials and restructured the security procedures and handling of exams. Exams were also released earlier than ever before.
Dr. Matiang'i has been fixing problems in any ministry that he headed and that reason earned him the top position at the Ministry of Interior and Coordination. After the 2017 general elections, Matiang'i dealt with the hot political temperatures with a diligence which saw the arrest of TJ Kajwang, Miguna Miguna among others.
Political scientist Prof Mutahi Ngunyi has argued that Dr. Fred Matiangi could be the probable successor to President Kenyatta.Professor argues that the only safe hands that president Kenyatta can leave Kenya are those of Dr. Fred Matiang'i. The big question is whether Dr. Matiang'i will be running for presidency come 2022.
