Junet Mohammed Delivers Bad News To BBI Proponents as He Reveals Why The 2022 Elections Must Happen

The halting of the BBI Reggea by the High Court has complicated 2022 matrix for the BBI proponents who had been hoping to use the Referendum to make realignments ahead of the elections.

This has led to many calling for the 2022 Elections to be postponed to a later date to allow the BBI Referendum to take place first.

Leading the calls to postpone the 2022 Elections is COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli who has been on record insisting that the BBI Referendum must take place before the elections.

Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed has however delivered bad news to the BBI Proponents by revealing why the 2022 Elections must take place as planned.

Speaking to the Standard, Junet has revealed that the 2022 Elections will not be postponed even for a minute as some people have been saying.

According to Junet, there is no way people should continue linking the coming Elections with BBI because they are not related in any way.

Junet has further insisted that the BBI cannot be an excuse for people to disregard the current constitution by scheming to change the election date.
