Catherine Kasavuli is being laid to rest today.
Roots party of Kenya party leader and former presidential candidate George Wajackoyah has launched a scathing political attack on president William Ruto during the funeral ceremony of celebrated journalist Catherine Kasavuli.
In a statement that leaved mourners in stitches, Wajackoyah sarcastically said that president William Ruto has done very well for the Western Kenya region by allegedly ensuring that as other people were being let free, Sirisia MP John Waluke was forgotten.
Wajackoyah said that the president deserves praise and appreciation too for the way in which he has relegated the western Kenya region to the periphery and left Waluke to carry his own cross in the case facing him in court.

Wajackoyah alleged that the president is currently focusing on ensuring that leaders from other regions who were facing Court cases are released. The funeral ceremony which is taking place at Vihiga county also saw Martha Karua, prime cabinet secretary Musalia Mudavadi and speaker Moses Wetang'ula attend.
