DP Ruto Finally Breaks Silence Moments After CS Matiangi Linked Him to 'Unknown' Properties, Lands

Deputy president William Ruto through his spokesmen David Mugonyi has issued a statement moments after interior cabinet secretary Fred Matiangi appeared the parliamentary committee concerning the second in command's security.

Matiangi dismissed claims of downscaling of Deputy President William Ruto's security.

Matiang'i said Ruto is the most guarded holder of the office since independence.

Matiangi on Wednesday told Parliament's Committee on Administration and National Security that Ruto has a total of 257 police officers offering security on daily basis.

In comparison to previous holders of the office being held by Ruto, Matiang’i demonstrated that all previous vice presidents had only 14 officers from the Presidential Escort Unit assigned to them yet Ruto has 74.

For the officers guarding residences of previous vice presidents, all of Ruto’s predecessors had between eight to 16 officers assigned to them while Ruto has 183 .

Now Mr Ruto's spokesman breaking silence, has said that most of the properties that Matiangi has linked to Ruto are not his citing that false association with strange and fictitious is unnecessary and malicious. 

"To underscore Matiang'i recklessness, many properties allocated to the DP in his statement to parliament are infact his. To add insult to injury Matiang'i asserts that he deployed security officers for these unknown unknown properties." Part of Mugonyi's statement reads.
