Ledama Ole Kina, leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and senator for Narok County, responded today to the continued campaign by members of parliament for the release of bursaries from the treasury.

Ledama stated on his Twitter account that things are worse as the National Assembly may go on strike. He communicated to President William Samoei Ruto that it may be difficult to control legislators with constituencies, especially during the back-to-school season.

Members of Congress are asking that the Treasury release the National Constituency Development Funds that have been kept in escrow. MPs stated today in Mombasa that only four months remain until the conclusion of the fiscal year 2022-2023, although they have not yet received NCDF.
