Kirinyaga: Karua Faces Rough Time Selling Azimio as UDA Chants Fills Air Again (Video)

Narc Kenya Party leader and former Gichugu MP Martha Karua on Friday, had a rough time rallying Azimio la Umoja and Raila Odinga's presidency after a section of residents heckled her.

This came barely a day after Karua also faced a similar scenario when accompanying ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga to Kirinyaga on Wednesday.

While on a solo campaign trail of Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance in Kirinyaga, Karua with her Narc Kenya counterparts were heckled with UDA chants. This was after she tried selling them Azimio slogans which attracted a rebellious nature.

At one point, Karua was forced to pause her speeches and watch in awe as UDA chants rendered the air.

"Azimio? (chanted Karua) UDA...(replied the residents) Mnataka mtoto wenu? chanted Karua, mtoto wetu na nani?...UDA...Ruto.. (answered the rowdy residents..." went on the chants.

Interestingly, her supporters who were glad in Narc Kenya's green outfits joined the rowdy residents in UDA chants.

Karua has been in Kirinyaga campaigning for Raila's presidency even as she looks forward to being nominated as Raila's running mate. Narc Kenya has already forwarded her name to the interviewing panel for consideration.

In the recent Mizani Africa opinion polls for Kirinyaga county gubernatorial race, Karua was at number two with 17.3% against the top contender incumbent Governor Anne Waiguru who was leading with 53.8%. Woman Representative Purity Ngirici was third with 15.4%
