Details of Governor Korane, ILO MOU Which Seeks to Train Youth and Create Employment

Garissa Governor H. E. Ali Korane today signed an MOU with International Labour Organization(ILO) Prospect project aimed at creating opportunities for Youth in the county.

The project which is meant to benefit host communities, will create employment opportunities, strengthen enterpreuneur training and help youths have relevant skills for job market.

The project will further create opportunities through public employment program similar to Kazi mtaani.

The Governor cited unemployment as the major challenge facing youths saying that such a project that will open opportunities for job market and self sustainability, was welcome.

ILO chief technical advisor Caroline Njoke said the project will have a great impact in addressing challeges facing the youth in all sub counties. 

She noted that several youths have already benefited from the project by receiving wielding training course in a Nairobi institute.

Garissa County secretary Abdi M Ali,County Attorney Ismail Dabar, CEC for Health and Sanitation Hon Roble Nunow, Director for Donor coordination Mohamed Sahal and Director for vocational training Hassan Aress witnessed the signing agreement.
