Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko (pictured) has been questioned by officials from the of Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), for allegedly inciting violence at Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance conference, chaired by ODM leader Raila Odinga over the weekend.
The chairman of the Mombasa Wiper Party, Sheikh Twaha Omar, said the Mombasa gubernatorial candidate had not been arrested but surrendered and wrote a statement at the Coast region police headquarters.
The Coast Regional Police Commander, Mr Titus Karuri, confirmed the grilling, which lasted from 8am to 1pm.

"We have interviewed him and we are done with him but the investigation is still ongoing," he said.
On Saturday, Mr Sonko allegedly stormed in with his supporters at an ongoing Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance meeting, and riots erupted and he was forced to flee for his safety.
Mr Sonko is running for office against Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir, a member of the ODM, and a former senator, Mr Hassan Omar of UDA.
