Ex Aide De Camp Dispels Rumours Surrounding the Prestigious Job

Many Kenyans usually mistake the President’s Aide De Camp as the lead bodyguard in the President’s security detail but he is not. This is because in most occasions the ADC is usually seen with the Head of State.

He literally goes with the President to everywhere the President wishes to go. He opens the car doors and stays close to him. Former Presidential ADC has dispelled the rumours that most Kenyans associate the job with. While appearing on NTV last year Major (Rtd) Marsden Madoka explained that most things that Kenyans say about them are not true.

According to Madoka, an ADC is not a bodyguard. He is employed to take care of other duties that ensure the Head of State is safeguarded. Madoka said that ADC is the one who receives gifts for the President, carries personal items including mobile phones and speeches for him.

“An ADC is not a bodyguard. He takes care of the welfare of the President an safeguards him. He is a well-trained soldier but does not have special abilities than other soldiers who serve in the forces. ADC can defend the President in case of an attack but it is not his job to do that,” Madoka has said.
