Embattled Former Nairobi County Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko was locked at Kamiti Maximum Prison on Wednesday 3rd February, from Gigiri Police Station, pending investigations and trial.

The detention of Mike Sonko has sparked lots of debates from leaders across the political divide, with leaders including Wiper party Kalonzo Musyoka weighing in to the debate.
Deputy President William Ruto's Hustler Nation allies have today visited embattled Sonkp at Kamiti Maximum Prison as a sign of solidarity with the Ex Governor.
Led by Elgeiyo Marakwet County Senator Hon Kipchumba Murkomen and later Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga among other leaders visited Sonko in detention.
The DP Ruto allies have vowed to stand in solidarity with Mike Sonko against his current woes which Senator Omanga has termed as "State Prosecution".
Senator Omanga's sentiments after the visit read, "At Kamiti courts. standing with Governor Mike Sonko against state persecution. The governor is in high spirits. #MamaMiradi".
