Former Kakamega Senator, Dr Boni Khalwale has now broken his silence after the United Democratic Alliance Party's (UDA) rally was disrupted by angry youths at Embakasi East Constituency.Police throwing teargas to restore peace at Jakaranda ground in Nairobi on 16th January, 2022: Photo/Dennis Onsongo
This is after a crowd of rowdy youth bashed into the rally which was held at Jakaranda grounds where they entered violently chanting 'Babu Owino'. The end of it all was destruction of properties including cars which were damaged and ended peace during the meeting.
Speaking through his official Twitter, Dr Khalwale slammed the ODM Party which he believed sponsored the violent youths, saying that an MP from Embakasi, which probably meant Babu Owino, must record a statement with the police.
According to Dr Khalwale, the IEBC must therefore take a disciplinary action against the ODM Party for this violence.
"Today at Jacaranda, the police was forced to disperse rowdy youth attempting to disrupt @UDAPartyKe rally.
1. @RailaOdinga must denounce violence during elections
2. An MP from Embakasi must record a statement
3. The IEBC must take disciplinary action against @TheODMparty " Posted Boni Khalwale here: https://t.co/IhiFmpmKyc
