Gatundu North MP Wanjiku Kine has come out to address reports she has defected from Jubilee Party to UDA which is led by Deputy President William Ruto.

UDA bloggers such as Pokot Mashinani have been alleging the Kieleweke legislator has dumped President Uhuru Kenyatta's camp citing pressure from her constituents.

This is following Kibe's Facebook post in which she said she had been informed by a friend that the ground has shifted allegiance to Ruto but has decided to vote for ODM leader Raila Odinga as the President come 2022 polls.

Kibe has dismissed the allegations of joining Tangatanga saying UDA was desperate ahead of next year's and only God who could help them overcome their hopelessness.

"Jamaneni hii dunia ya UDA is seriously desperate. Watasaidiwa aje sasa? Mungu saidia!" she said.

In another Facebook post, the former presenter and head of radio at Kameme FM clarified that she was still behind Raila's Azimio La Umoja initiative, and declared herself "proudly a daughter of the Mountain for Baba."

"To go is to see and to listen. For sure the ground is changing Speed! Speed! in favour of Baba the bado January haijafika," Kibe posted.

Out of 12 MPs in President Uhuru's home county of Kiambu, only Kibe and her 3 counterparts who are still in Kieleweke faction of the ruling party. The rest are Peter Mwathi (Limuru), Jude Njomo (Kiambu Town) and Lari's Jonah Mburu.
