The woes of the four IEBC commissioners popularly referred to as Cherera four got to another level high after the president former a taskforce to investigate their conduct and recommend the action to be taken against them. This comes after the four failed to appear before the JLAC committee that was formed by Parliament to hear their petition.
Today, the IEBC vice chair Juliana Cherera tendered her resignation where she thanked President William Ruto for giving her the opportunity to serve Kenyans. While resigning, Cherera said that her actions were misinterpreted and misjudged as all she was doing was excercising her mandate at per the requirement of the law.
Her resignation came barely a day after fellow commissioner Justus Nyangaya also tendered his resignation from the commission due to the pressure that has been pilling on the four to quit the commission. Following those unfolding dramas, lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna has reacted saying that what is going on was a prob into accountability and there is nothing wrong with that.
Through his Twitter account, Miguna said that Cherera four committed a wrong and tye prob cannot be termed as revenge.
"Accountability for wrongs committed against the Kenyan people, which is what the Cherera four did - cannot be termed as revenge." Miguna Miguna.
