Blow to Uhuru: Jubilee-KANU Coalition is Illegal
Jubilee and KANU signed a post poll coalition and deposited it with the registrar of political parties. However, it has appeared that after all, the specifications laid down in the Jubilee party's constitution regarding the matter was not followed.
This has led the deputy secretary general of Jubilee party to write to the registrar of political parties Caleb Kositany. See below attached letter to the registrar.
The registrar of political parties has acknowledged receipt of the letter from Kositany and ruled out that the coalition is illegal as the Jubilee constitution on the matter was not followed.
This is a huge win for the Tanga Tanga affiliates and they will be energized in the bid to also overturn the senate changes that were made ousting Kipchumba Murkomen as the Senate Majority Leader. He was replaced by Samuel Poghisio.
Ruto allies have a chance to now take control of things at the ruling party and avoid further damage that might be directed towards them. They have the majority in the senate and in the parliament and should find it easy if they do not allow to be influenced and thus controlled. It is theirs to lose with the ruling by the registrar.
It is now a matter of time to see how it all plays out. Ruto allies are expected to use this opportunity and pull something out for themselves.
