Cherangany Member of Parliament Joshua Kutuny has disclosed a plan by him and president Uhuru Kenyatta's side of political divide to win back Jubilee politicians who have defected to deputy president Dr William Ruto's camp ahead of 2022 general election.
According to Kutuny, the ruling party officials were working out on a plan to court Tanga Tanga elected leaders to rejoin the head of state's political faction.
The vocal MP revealed that he was holding talks with the leaders in a bid to explain to them about their misdeeds within the ruling party. He noted that he would inform them on where they were going wrong by associating with Dr Ruto and failing to respect the party leader and the party's positions.
Further, Kutuny averred that he would seek to understand why they had resolved to go against the ruling outfit's aspirations yet they subscribed to the same earlier on.
He was speaking while appearing on TV 47 Kenya Live on Wednesday evening where he lambasted Dr Ruto's Jubilee side of political divide for disrespecting president Uhuru Kenyatta.
The Kieleweke lawmaker asserted that he was pleased with the response he was receiving from his colleagues who were associating with the DP. He alleged that he would continue doing the same in order to reunite Jubilee after being appointed as its Deputy Secretary General.
“In my new party position, I want to reach out to Tangatanga MPs, to understand their issues and why they have decided to defy the party. I have already started engaging them, the reception is good," said Kutuny.
This follows after the Cherangany MP was appointed as the new Deputy Secretary General of the ruling party Jubilee. He replaced his Soy counterpart Caleb Kositany who had been axed over accusations of disloyalty within the party.
The laying off of MP Kositany was part of Jubilee's move to clean up its house in preparation of 2022 succession politics after it emerged that Dr Ruto and his brigade were unwanted by Uhuru and his associates following a serious fallout with the outfit.
